Brothers and Sisters
We need to put the union up to the challenge. Here is how!!!! We have our union dues garnished from our pay every two weeks. Well there is no law or provision saying that we have to pay our dues this way. This is a secured method for the union to have our money. If the union is held to a new standard by us paying our dues by hard check.Let our stewarts collect the dues. From us... This would allow us to grab them by the balls to represent us. Money talks. Let them...

Fellow Letter Carriers:

I'm fed up with the NALC and can't wait to quit and put the dues money in my TSP. Maybe then I'll have half the retirement that our Union bigwigs in D.C. certainly have arranged for themselves.

A PS Form 1188 must be filled out to quit - you can obtain a copy from your supervisor. Then, strictly follow the instructions in ELM 312, (Employee Labor Relations manual) Chapter 9, and send copy three of the PS 1188 to NALC headquarters not more than 20 and no...

I am currently involved in a mutual transfer and waiting for final approval. I am wondering if it is approved who will set the date for the actual transfer. Me and the person that I am swapping with or management? The reason that I am asking is that there is a conflict in what date we actually wish to transfer. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks!

A message From NALC President Young to members:

The 2004 election is just one week away. National and
state-level polls indicate that the contest for the presidency is too close to call. In many states, Senate and House races are extremely close as well. As activists, we can make the difference on Election Day and help elect candidates who support letter carriers and a strong U.S. Postal Service.

If we are willing to work at it, we can help make Senator John Kerry the next...

I'm wondering what letter carriers think of NALC's new route adjustment proposal. It seems that the USPS would never buy into a system that would adjust routes based on a carrier's average street times. (Even the faster carriers now would start pacing themselves.) Perhaps this stance is a ploy by Young to get the Postal Service's attention so that the...
